Meet the Team at Horizon Motorhomes…
Clayton is the driving force behind the award-winning manufacturer Horizon Motorhomes and what it is today. In the early nineties he decided to turn his love of motors and travelling into a career and has built his dream through dedication, enthusiasm and sheer hard work.
Clayton never stops and he spends a lot of time researching current trends, attending trade shows around the world and listening to what the customer wants. As such the design of the range is constantly evolving and improving to deliver the best end product possible.
When not at the Horizon factory, Clayton is at the dealership, BCMC (Ballina Campervan & Motorhome Centre) where he is Dealer Principal/Proprietor and oversees the entire operation.
When he’s not working he enjoys life to the full – touring throughout Australia and testing his products makes for exciting family holidays. His other passions are motorcycling and water-skiing.
Dave is our Production Manager at Horizon Motorhomes and joined the team in June 2015. With 20 years experience in the marine industry on the Gold Coast, he is an expert on high-end quality, design and detail.
Dave recently moved to the Northern Rivers from the Gold Coast in search of a sea change and saw an opportunity open up at Horizon Motorhomes. He was familiar with Horizon’s outstanding products and was keen to be a part of the business.
Dave brings with him a strong set of leadership skills and says it makes life easier when you’re making such an outstanding and well-established product like Horizon Motorhomes, and with a great team to lead.
Dave has big plans to help the company grow further and will ensure his team work above and beyond to continue to produce award-winning motorhomes.
When he is not at work, you can find Dave outdoors – surfing or dirt bike riding.
Glenn grew up in Tasmania and moved to the Northern Rivers in the late nineties. He has been with Horizon since 2005 when they were a small team of 4.
He started as a cabinetmaker and as the company grew, Glenn grew with it. He is now in Product Development and works closely with Clayton on new ideas and innovations, introducing new technologies and product enhancements.
As the master of the CAD software Glenn’s role comprises initial ideas, design concepts and feasibility. He enjoys the opportunity to keep learning and have a valued input into the finished product.
In his spare time he enjoys the water – and you’ll find him fishing and kayaking in and around Ballina.
Originally from Sydney, Fred is a Draughtsman by trade. He’d had enough of the big city so made the move to the Northern Rivers in 2000 to take on a design engineer role.
As the Assistant Manager at Horizon Fred works closely with Dave, and his role focuses on quality control, inventory control and production planning, ensuring everything is running smoothly and efficiency is maximised.
He is a father of one (son) and a keen tennis player (he used to coach), and as with many in this beautiful part of the country he is a keen surfer and loves a day at The Pass in Byron.
Fred is the newest member of the Horizon team and enthusiastic about the growth of the company and the constant improvements being made to the end product.
Ken is a familiar face for many Horizon and BCMC customers having been involved with BCMC and Horizon on and off since 1999. His return sees him move away from his old sales role and he has joined the team at the Horizon Motorhomes factory as Purchasing Officer.
Ken’s involvement with Horizon spans 10 years and he has seen the business and the team grow substantially over that time. New Zealand born, Ken has been living in Australia for over 25 years and has travelled the country in a range of recreational vehicles including a Toyota Hiace Frontline Camper and a Horizon Motorhome. Like most of the team, he has tried and tested the Horizon range and fully believes in the quality of our product.
Ken is happy to be back at Horizon and once again a part of the BCMC team, a company he respects for their continuous support for their clients no matter how big or small their issue or concern. He is also happy to be back working on a product that he believes is making a difference to someone’s life in retirement.
When not at work you can find Ken running, or keeping in shape at the gym.
