The Wanderer – May 2017 – Touring Destinations

The Wanderer May 2017, pg 110

“Horizon Motorhomes owner Nola, from Geelong, travels solo, alongside her cat, Polly. Fourteen months ago she decided to purchase a Horizon ‘Banksia’ motorhome and has since clocked over 21,000km. Nola loves the freedom of being able to choose where and when she will travel. She prefers to free camp and one of her favourite stops along the way has been the mighty Murray River.
The Murray River is one of the world’s longest navigable rivers and stretches 2700km from the mountains of the Great Dividing Range in north-eastern Victoria to the coast near Adelaide. A mountain stream in its upper reaches, the meandering river is lined with magnificent forests of red gum and sandy beaches in its lower reaches.
There are over 23 camping spots (including several free camping options) on the Murray River Reserve with outstanding fishing, swimming and boating, and a number of picnicking spots along the way.
Horizon Motorhomes offers a variety of standard features that make safe and self-contained free camping possible, such as a water tank, long life battery system, shower, toilet, gas cooking and optional solar power.”
