Horizon Motorhomes Ensures Electrical Cable Safety Following Infinity Electrical Cable Safety Recall

Following a national recall on 27th August 2014 of Infinity cables after they failed electrical safety standards due to poor quality plastic insulation coating, Horizon Motorhomes would like to reassure all our customers that we do NOT currently and have not in the past used any Infinity Cables in our wiring of our Motorhomes.

A safety recall notice issued by CCIA/MHIA states that “The ACCC recall relates to all sizes and configurations of white TPS and Orange Round infinity mains power cables. Olsent power cables sourced from infinity Cable Co Pty Ltd are also affected. The recall covers the 18 national suppliers responsible for 85% of all cables sold in Australia.”

The NSW Fair Trading safety recall says: “While there is no immediate risk posed by Infinity cables the casing around the cable can be compromised particularly by high temperature as the cable ages, exposing wires.”

NSW was the first jurisdiction to initiate a recall of Infinity-branded cable in August last year. Following testing led by NSW Fair Trading a mandatory recall followed in NSW in October 2013.
