Horizon Motorhomes’ Makes History and Enters into Hall of Fame

Horizon Motorhomes make history, winning ‘Manufacturer of the Year’ for three consecutive years and ‘Best of the Best’ for their second year, at the NSW Caravan & Camping Industry Association (CCIA) Awards of Excellence, which recognises the leaders in the caravan and camping industry.

This victory reflects three years of consecutive achievement in the industry awards, cementing their reputation for high quality workmanship and will now enter the CCIA’s ‘Hall of Fame’.

Clayton Kearney, Managing Director at Horizon Motorhomes said he is proud and honoured to win a hat-trick of awards at this prestigious industry event.

Manufacturer of the Year

“It is a huge victory, achievement and testament to all the hard work, loyalty and commitment of our team. We are dedicated to delivering the highest quality built-in motorhomes. Our range is constantly evolving and we’re continually improving our product to suit changing lifestyle demands.”

As a proud Australian business since 1995, Horizon Motorhomes are based in Ballina, NSW and are specialists in the design and manufacture of built-in motorhomes.

Each motorhome is hand built with precision and passion and engineered with the best materials and construction techniques, which have led it to become one of the largest built-in motorhome manufacturers in Australia.

Built into the Fiat Ducato and Mercedes-Benz Sprinter base vehicles, the Horizon range currently consists of nine motorhomes across the two vehicle types, including several 4-wheel drive options. The range is currently – Melaleuca Appeal, Melaleuca, Casuarina, Banksia, Banksia+2, Wattle, AcaciaWaratah and Grevillea. Five models built into the Fiat Ducato and four in the Mercedes Benz Sprinter that currently range from $102,500 to $166,000 (drive away).

“I would like to thank my team, our suppliers, our customers and the industry association for the success, as well as congratulate all the contenders and winners of the Awards of Excellence. These awards recognise the outstanding achievements made by the businesses that contribute to the success of the growing Australian caravan and camping industry.”

This latest win tops off a very successful year for Horizon Motorhomes.

Earlier this year, Horizon Motorhomes launched a new model into its range – the Melaleuca Appeal, which was built in response to feedback from customers looking for a simpler model at a cheaper price point, to get them on the road quicker. This model has been well received by customers and the industry, with many positive reviews already having taken place.

This year has also seen Horizon Motorhomes win the ‘Trade and Manufacturing’ and ‘Manufacturing and Innovation’ award categories at two of their local business awards.

Last year, Horizon Motorhomes moved their manufacturing into a new purpose-built, state of the art factory in Ballina with a view to significantly increasing production capacity.

NSW Caravan & Camping Industry Association President, Theo Whitmont said the 2017 Excellence Awards had an unprecedented number of nominations.

“Our awards look closely at the customer experience, so these winners have really excelled in their service delivery,” says Theo.

The 2017 ‘Manufacturer of the Year’ and ‘Best of the Best’ Awards as well as the ‘Hall of Fame’ acknowledgement was presented at the Caravan & Camping Industry Association Awards of Excellence held on October 16th at Luna Park in Sydney.
