The village dates back to 1870 and has a retained a charming country feel to it. There are tearooms, a pub, and pies are made fresh daily at the Kangaroo Valley Pie Shop at Barrengarry Old Store. We understand that the Kangaroo Valley Fudge House is an absolute MUST visit for sweet treats.

If you are a history buff, you will love the Pioneer Village Museum and historical Hampden Bridge. The town has loads of interesting events to coordinate your visit around including a three-day folk fest. There are endless options for any of you ‘foodies’ including wine tastings, local olive grove tours, and cooking classes.

There is no shortage of natural beauty in this area. The spectacular Fitzroy Falls and Gerringong Falls are less than 20 kms away from Kangaroo Valley and there are a number of stunning bushwalks, picnic area and the Tallowa Dam

Find a quiet pocket of space to just set up your motorhome and enjoy some peace and quiet at the Bendeela camping and recreation area.

With its wide-open spaces and lush setting on the banks of the Kangaroo River, it’s the perfect spot to relax. Get back to nature with activities including swimming, canoeing, fishing and wildlife spotting. If you decide to set up camp here, you will need to take special care of the Bare-Nosed Wombats.
